Preparing For A Changing Climate: A Public Health Perspective
Description:
Climate change is a complex global health crisis, requiring disciplines to work together to provide innovative solutions.
Public health professionals have a unique role to play in the work of climate adaptation and are positioned to take established skill sets, such as translating complex, data-driven scientific information into tangible, easy-to-understand information that individuals can use to guide their own health decisions.
This presentation will describe the current state of climate change across the nation, the projections for the future under multiple scenarios, the tools available to assist public health professionals in their work, and the current initiatives and opportunities in Minnesota for those interested in expanding their capacity to help communities become resilient to the impacts of climate change.
