Call for Abstracts

Abstracts Due:

The Minnesota Society for Public Health Education (MN SOPHE) is now accepting abstracts for a virtual poster session during the 2025 Health Education Summit at the New Brighton Community Center in St Paul, Minnesota.

Throughout the Summit, attendees will have the opportunity to view the posters. A half-hour poster session will also occur in the afternoon, giving attendees an additional opportunity to view the posters and presentations. 

While all submissions will be reviewed, not all submissions will be accepted for presentation. If your presentation is accepted, you will be notified by Friday, September 12th, 2025. You will be asked to confirm your attendance by Friday, September 19th. Poster presenters must register for the conference in order to be included in the poster session.

What types of projects will be considered for presentation? See samples from previous years here: Poster Session

  • Research (Quantitative, Qualitative, and Literature Reviews)

  • Only research projects that have received appropriate ethics board (IRB) approval will be considered

  • Program/Project/Policy Evaluation

  • Implementation/Process Evaluation

  • Quality Improvement Project

  • Tools for Public Health Education

All projects pertaining to health, health education, and health promotion will be considered. 


Who is eligible to submit abstracts? 

Everyone is eligible to submit an abstract. 

We are particularly interested in submissions from public health professionals, health sciences students (undergraduate and graduate), UMN Extension staff, social workers, worksite wellness coordinators, and health care professionals.


What are the abstract submission guidelines?

  • Abstracts should emphasize the impact of the project on health, health education, and/or health promotion.

  • Abstracts should be submitted online by Friday, August 29th.

  • Abstracts should be no more than 2000 characters (including spaces).

What are the poster guidelines?

The abstract should present the project background, history, purpose, methods, results and conclusion, as well as the the impact of the project for those working in health education/promotion

Abstracts should concisely describe the evaluation/research/project using no more than 2000 characters.
